When you join the Forty Forty Challenge, you commit to walking or running for 20 minutes a day for 40 days. During that daily 20 minutes, you read through pre-assigned Scripture. You also gain access to a lively, supportive Facebook group of other participants cheering you on.

I know walking seems like a dismissable activity, but don’t underestimate its power when it comes to shedding those stubborn pounds. It’s one of the easiest ways to lose weight!
Did you know an average person walking 30 minutes at a brisk pace burns around 200 calories? Not bad!
It’s a well-known fact that you need to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. So if you spend most of your day sitting at a desk, your sedentary lifestyle could be a big culprit in weight gain. 😬
Here are some walking tips you can add to your Jesus Challenge to burn more calories:
💨 Increase how many calories you burn by walking faster or adding intensity. This means picking up your pace, setting the treadmill to “incline,” or walking a trail with hills.
😮💨 Notice your breathing. If it’s challenging to hold a conversation, that means your heart rate is elevated, and you’re burning more calories!
🚶 Plan to take 10,000 steps per day. At 10k steps, you’re burning at least 2,000 calories per day. If you don’t have extra time to walk longer, park at the far end of the parking lot, take your phone calls on a walk, or invest in a walking treadmill.
