These optional weekly challenges aren’t about checking off a to-do list but about forming Jesus habits—small, intentional steps that bring us closer to Him each day. Over time, these habits will shape your heart, mind, and lifestyle to reflect His.

1. Pray During Your Walk

Why? Jesus often withdrew to pray while walking or in nature (Luke 5:16). Walking while praying helps us connect with God in a focused and peaceful way, turning a simple habit into a sacred one.

How to Do It: As you walk, talk to Jesus as if He were beside you. Pray for your loved ones, your challenges, and thank Him for His blessings. Let your walk become a time of worship.

2. Spend an Extra 10 Minutes in His Word

Why? Jesus said, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Spending extra time in Scripture strengthens our faith and helps us align our hearts with Jesus.

How to Do It: Set a timer for 10 extra minutes beyond your usual reading. Use this time to go deeper into a passage, write down key takeaways, or pray over what you’ve read.

3. Add Someone to your Prayer List

Why? Jesus continually prayed for others, even for those who rejected Him (Luke 23:34). Expanding your prayer list helps you develop a heart like His—one that intercedes for others in love.

How to Do It: Think of someone who could use prayer—maybe a friend, a neighbor, or even a stranger. Write their name down and commit to praying for them regularly.

4. Take a Day Off of Social Media

Why? Jesus often withdrew from distractions to focus on God (Mark 1:35). Social media can consume our attention and emotions, making it harder to hear from God. Taking a break allows us to reset our minds and focus on Him.

How to Do It: Log out of your apps for the day. Use the time you would normally scroll to pray, read Scripture, or enjoy quiet reflection.

5. Talk to Someone About Jesus

Why? Jesus commanded us to share the Gospel (Mark 16:15). Talking about Him strengthens our own faith and gives others the chance to know His love.

How to Do It: It doesn’t have to be a full sermon! You can mention something God has been teaching you, share a Bible verse, or encourage someone with a Christ-centered message.

6. Wake Up Early to Be in Prayer

Why? Jesus made time for early morning prayer (Mark 1:35). Starting your day with Him helps set the tone for walking in His peace and wisdom.

How to Do It: Set your alarm 15–30 minutes earlier than usual. Before checking your phone or getting busy, spend that time in prayer—thanking God, surrendering your day, and listening for His voice.

7. Chose a Day of Healthy Meals and No Sugar

Why? Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), and honoring God with our choices includes what we eat. Jesus lived with self-discipline and balance, and we can follow His example by being mindful of our health.

How to Do It: Choose one day to eat nutritious, whole foods while avoiding sugar. Treat it as a way to honor God with your body and practice self-control.
