Key Takeaways:

  • Throughout the virtual Jesus challenge, you built life-changing habits, overcoming discomfort, fear, time constraints, and doubts.

  • These habits are worth keeping and nurturing because they created a groundbreaking change in your mindset, physical health, and spiritual depth.

  • The Genesis and Exodus challenges are designed as a seamless next step to build on your success with the Jesus challenge.

  • Committing to another challenge now keeps you from backsliding unintentionally into old patterns.

  • If you want to enjoy the vibrant fruit of a life with God, you must keep nurturing the habits that allow you to meet with God.

You’ve Come So Far in the Jesus Challenge!

I want to pause for a moment and celebrate your progress! You’re only two weeks away from completing the late summer Jesus challenge! 🥳

Maybe you’ve crushed miles every day and consistently knocked your challenges out of the park. OR, maybe this past month felt like a hard-fought battle just to pull your shoes on and walk out the door. Maybe it was a little of both.

But you still showed up! 👏 You leaned in. You chose to stretch yourself when it would have been easier to quit.

I’m so proud of you! 🥹

Now, think back to where you were before this Christian virtual walking challenge started.

  • What were your routines like?

  • How was your energy?

  • How was your relationship with God?

These last few weeks, you built a powerful, life-changing habit of prioritizing God as #1 in your life. And that lifestyle is far too valuable just to set down and leave behind as a “past chapter” of your story.

I’m sure you’ve wondered, “What am I going to do after this is over?” 🤔

What will happen to your spiritual growth after this Jesus challenge is over? Are you a little nervous you’ll slip back into your old patterns?

It’s for that very reason I created additional Jesus challenges: the Genesis and Exodus challenges, designed specifically for people like you who already conquered the Jesus challenge and want to maintain their spiritual and physical momentum!

Are Your Jesus Challenge Habits Worth Keeping?

Let’s take a look at these habits you developed over the last month.

You’ve probably noticed:

🌱 Weight loss or feeling better in your body

You move more easily, feel lighter, have less pain, and maybe even went down a size or two! 🙌

🌱 Hearing God’s voice more clearly

Suddenly, you're tuned in like never before, noticing verses in a new way or catching a nudge from the Holy Spirit in the middle of your day. You feel alive and awake to God’s presence.

🌱 A deeper connection with your family or friends

If you invited family or friends to join you, I have no doubt those relationships took on new dimensions and depth in the last month. You now stand shoulder to shoulder with them, united in your pursuit of Christ.

🌱 Confidence in God’s purpose for you

The fog is lifting a little more every day, and you know you can trust Him to reveal each next step at the right time.

🌱 Abiding with God throughout your day

You enjoy a close personal connection with God all day long – sitting in traffic, chatting with a friend, folding laundry. God is your steady companion, and you’ve rarely felt this close to Him.

🌱 Getting away to clear your mind

You look forward to that daily walk. It’s a sacred time of quiet and pause, where you can step away from the noise and demands of your day and let the Lord refill your tank.

🌱 Stretching your comfort zone

It’s scary, I know, but you’re proud of yourself. And you should be! Maybe you shared vulnerably in the Facebook group. Maybe you jogged instead of walking last week. Maybe you opened up to God more than you ever have in the past. It’s hard, but isn’t it so worth it?!

I’m sure there are many other amazing habits you’ve noticed over the last weeks. And I want you to really ask yourself, “Do I want these habits to just be a 'summer thing,' or do I want my life to always look and feel like this?

If you’re hungry for a long-term lifestyle of physical health and a deep, intimate relationship with God, the Genesis and Exodus challenges are your next step forward. 📈

Wendi Jones, one of my wonderful 2025 Jesus challenge finishers, decided she wasn’t willing to let all her incredible progress go down the drain. After completing the Jesus virtual challenge, she said,

“The most amazing thing I did this year was I bought this challenge. I have stage 4 cancer, am in remission, and I’ve lost 12 pounds of unwanted weight. I bought Genesis and Exodus to keep going in faith and health.”

Why Stop Now?

Remember those “camp highs” after church camp or a retreat? You came home bubbling with new goals for your life. 🤩 But after about a week of normal life, those goals felt a little hazy, and you slid right back into “normal life,” without even meaning to.

That’s what often happens after finishing a huge accomplishment like the Jesus virtual challenge. You end it fired up to implement daily devotions on your own, but slowly the days blur together again, other things crowd into that time with God, and your Bible stays closed.

None of us WANTS that to happen, but without intentionality, we all slip back into our old patterns. 😩

Are you ok with letting all that hard-earned growth float away? I KNOW you worked hard for this.

👉 If you want the fruit this habit produces, you MUST keep tending to it. Just like a garden needs weeding and a fire needs stoking, your time with the Lord needs attention – regularly.

The enemy will do everything he can to lull you to sleep with your old habits, tell you it’s not that important, or drip-feed you apathy so you don’t really care anymore.

Here’s the truth, friend: if you stop now, you risk drifting back into the same old distractions and patterns that kept you from intimacy with God before. 🫣 BUT if you keep going after the virtual Jesus challenge ends, you engrave this habit and lifestyle deeper, producing fruit that’s sweeter, richer, and more abundant over time.

After finishing her virtual Jesus challenge this year, Amy Bartholemew didn’t even give herself the chance to slip backwards. She said,

“This was one of the best challenges I have ever joined! My best friend and I completed it and absolutely loved it. I looked forward to reading the Bible and getting my exercises in. I already ordered Genesis and Exodus to continue on reading, learning, and exercising.”

What Exactly Are the Genesis & Exodus Challenges?

Consider these challenges as sequels to the Jesus virtual challenge. They are two separate challenges, allowing you to extend your growth habits twice as long!

Here’s a rundown of these additional challenges

  • Two separate challenges in chronological order ✌️

The Genesis Challenge covers 80 days, and the Exodus Challenge 40 days, giving you a whopping 120 EXTRA days of spiritual growth after your original 40-day Jesus challenge journey.

  • Special pricing for YOU 💰

As a Jesus virtual challenge finisher, you get each additional challenge for just $32.99, a steal compared to the usual $52.99 Jesus Challenge.

  • Available to all Jesus Challenge finishers 🫵

Whether you’re still wrapping up the late summer challenge OR if you completed a Christian virtual walking challenge years ago, you can still participate in these additional challenges.

  • The same core habits you already know and love 🚶

These additional challenges follow the same pattern as the virtual Jesus challenge: walking or running one mile a day while studying pre-assigned Scripture. You’ll also get access to a new Facebook group with people doing the same challenge!

  • Weekly challenges 💪

Instead of the daily challenges you’re used to from the Jesus challenge, these offer weekly challenges, giving you more time to practice and fully integrate what you’re learning into your daily lifestyle.

  • Fresh content 💌

We carefully chose these early books of the Bible to help you experience the very beginning of God’s story through His eyes. If you’re already familiar with these stories, don’t be afraid to let God reveal new truths to you. He’s always working!

  • Seamless continuation 🔄

Designed specifically for people like you who just completed the Jesus challenge, these additional challenges help you keep digging deeper into the momentum and habits you worked so hard to build.

Dain Parrish finished up his Jesus virtual challenge in June 2025, and he says, “I absolutely love these challenges. I did the 2025 challenge with the book of John and now I’m halfway through the Exodus challenge. It helps keep me closer to God and set daily devotional goals.”
